Description

Munich, around 1830/35.

Maple, partially engraved and amaranth veneered on softwood body. Finest thread inlays made from ebony and maple.

Pre-upholstered with white nettle fabric.

Maximum backrest height: 89 cm

Seat width: 45 cm

Literature for comparison: Quite similar chairs, designed by Leo von Klenze, which were preserved in King Ludwig I’s anteroom at the Munich Residence, can be found illustrated and described in Hojer, Gerhard; Ottomeyer, Hans; The furniture of the Munich Residence, Vol. III, pp. 137 and 138.
